It was going so well until…

You’ve been there.

Your meeting is rocking the socks.

You’re getting along with this new person like gangbusters.

It’s like you’re reading each others’ minds.

Completing each others’ sentences.

This is going REALLY. FUCKING. WELL.

You are ready to get out of there asap JUST so you can leave on a kick ass note.

And then…

THIS happens.

It’s so awkward.

So painful.

And once it’s happens, it’s nearly impossible to recover from.

(Inspired by actual events).

What NOT to do: First Impressions

The good news is, we’ve all been there.

(Ahem – I can neither confirm nor deny whether I was in fact the one who’s actual event inspired this video *cough *cough *cough)

What can you do, really?  Be as charming and effervescent as possible.

Play it off as a flighty brilliant “artiste.”

The cuter you are, the easier it will fly.

However, I CAN give you some deceptively simple, yet solid, advice to take into any and every meeting from here on out.

  • If you’re not sure where you are going, ASK
  • LISTEN to the instructions given (no matter how nervous or jacked up you are, don’t get so high on your own cleverness for asking that you skip the part where you listen + process information)
  • When encountering strange and heretofore unused door handles, try BOTH the push and pull mechanism.  If that fails, exit immediately without being seen.

Leave a comment. How have you gracefully exited an embarrassing situation?  We want to know!

And if you haven’t already registered for the FREE Build Your Own Buzz video series,

do it. Right now.

It’s only available for a limited time and I don’t want you to miss a beat.
